MITCHELL ENGLISH — COASTAL SOUL, CONTEMPORARY VISION
Mitchell English is a Noosa-based, Sydney-born artist whose work captures the raw, sun-drenched essence of coastal life. With over 30 years of painting and a lifetime of chasing waves, his art is a visual love letter to the Australian coastline.
A life-long surfer, English’s paintings radiate a utopian vision of Australian beach life. His works define cropped fragments of infinity, taking the viewer beyond the canvas into the space of memory. Being lost in joy and lost in waves are palpable inspirations that infuse his pieces with captivating energy.
English’s work has been featured in Vogue Living, belle, InsideOut, Taschen, Home Beautiful, and ELLE Decoration. His pieces grace private collections and prestigious public institutions worldwide, including Sydney’s Powerhouse Museum.
English has exhibited in solo and group shows across Australia and internationally, creating art that resonates with both art enthusiasts and surf aficionados.
