BORN 1984
STUDIES
Self-taught artist
Background
Shane is a self-confessed painting addict. His style developed from a love and passion for traditional realist painters and the magic of capturing light.
Shane considers his paintings to be an exciting series of discoveries, each piece informing the next, to bring insight and understanding to the work of his heroes.
Shane’s work takes us on a peculiar but strikingly original and evocative journey, through curious natural landscapes inhabited by bizarre but enduring characters. By exploring ways to blur traditional technique within the invention of his own world, he has created a wholly unique narrative that is at once hauntingly fantastic and visually rich. Shane’s work invites our minds to wander and drift, while exciting our imagination and curiosity.
After his first solo exhibition in 2008, Shane now emerges as an exciting and unique artist whose work portends a thrilling journey into the bizarre and extraordinary.

Harvey Galleries was founded by the Harvey family in 1994 with an eye to establish a dynamic and inclusive contemporary art space on the North Shore of Sydney. For almost three decades we have expanded our reach to over three gallery locations and an ever expanding stable of the best artists Australia has to offer.
Harvey Galleries acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which our galleries stand. The Guringai people (Seaforth), the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation (Sydney), and the Bunurong Boon Wurrung and Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples of the Eastern Kulin Nation (Melbourne).
We pay our respect to Elders past and present.
