This most recent body of work embraces the artist’s love of his home studio at Sydney’s Chinamans Beach, his immediate surroundings and his frequently painted reef and underwater world. For many years these have been favourite subjects for Ken. Of special note are three beach paintings that focus on the study of the landscape. These paintings are comprised of detailed figures representing the patterning and playfulness of a day at the beach.

Since his first solo exhibition in 1980, Ken Done has become one of Australia’s most famous artists. His work has been described as the most original style to come out of Australia, and his paintings are in collections throughout the world. Born 29 June, 1940, in Sydney, Ken left school at 14 to enter the National Art School in East Sydney. After 5 years study, he commenced a highly successful career as an art director and designer in New York, London and Sydney.

Exhibition artwork will be shipped once the exhibition closes and for an Art of Dr. Seuss purchase, please allow 14 – 16 weeks for delivery from date of purchase.
The average time for dispatch for all other artworks is approximately 5 business days, depending on availability and payment arrangements.
Delivery will take between 5 – 10 business days Australia wide.
