“The view from my studio window at Primrose Park lead my eyes directly to a small clump of trees, they watch me silently, quiet sentinels. sounds filter through, fronds swaying, bark creaking, water running towards the bay. Light becomes magician changing volume and space, their trunks fade in and out enveloped in fog, mist, rain. Some mornings they march towards me.
I do not wish to paint the trees literally, rather, the feeling of time standing, delaying holding me while I absorb and look repeatedly at these trees, they intrigue me, everyday becomes a new version of the day before. There is always the possibility of renewal. They wait for me and I wait for them to find a place In my paintings.”
