In the painting, the King of rock’n’roll is portrayed as a neon-drenched crooner reliving the energized, raunchy performances of his youth as he belts out tunes with a seductive lean, a sharp suit, and a killer pompadour that would put living rockers to shame. Bathed in Technicolor brilliance, Romeo’s undead Elvis smoulders into the mic with the gusto of a rockstar with a literal bone to pick – living proof that flesh may fade, but rock’n’roll is eternal.
